Lefkadia Valley is the perfect terroir for sparkling wines. This was shown by the first experiment in 2010 and was confirmed by the Champagne consultant Rodolphe Peters of the glorious house of Pierre Peters. Cool climate, limestone soils are the most suitable terroir for the production of fresh sparkling wines. Temelion doesn’t try to copy the style of Champagne, Cava, or Franciacorta, it goes its own way. Today, several brands of sparkling wines are produced in the valley, but Temelion was and remains the first.

Temelion translated from Greek means "starting point".

Complex sparkling wines with long aging on the lees. Suitable for high gastronomy, although they will not get lost on the table with all kinds of snacks.

"The chardonnay from the small seventh site is completely different and we decided to experiment with sparkling wine in 2010. It turned out to be extremely successful: the climate and soils of this site were perfect. It sounds trite, but wine is born in the vineyard, so the vines for the future Temelion are processed in a completely different way. This is the only way to get a complex wine that can stay on the lees for 5 or more years. And that very first site of Chardonnay, the 95th clone on the rootstock 41b, from which it all began, became the heart of our best Temelion, its harvest goes to blanc-de-blanc. "
